Predictions for 2014

There will be war
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:10-12
There must be preparation
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints–
Ephesians 6:13-18

There will be casualties
Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica–Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.
Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.
At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.
II Timothy 4:10-15

There can be victory
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places
Ephesians 6:10-13

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
II Corinthians 10:3-6

Practical discussion
There is evil in the world. Evil must be confronted. That means war. We are in a war. It is a Spiritual war. We are fighting the Devil. Our weapons are not carnal. Our weapons are Spiritual. The Truth of Scripture is the primary weapon in Spiritual warfare. All sin and untruth will fall when confronted by the Truth.

Unfortunately, people get involved in Satan’s kingdom. We need to fight to set them free. Sometimes it feels like we are fighting the people. We are not fighting people. Sadly, some of the people persist in following the wrong path. Sometimes we have to reveal their sinful behavior. That must be done with a heavy heart, but it must be done.

Blessings in the battle. We are in the battle together. There will be defeats and there will be victories. There are crowns for victory and there is eternal grief for defeat. Nothing in this life is more important. The battle is the Lord’s!

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!
