Truth – The Basis of Life

by on October 6, 2014

The basis of life is truth.
The application of truth is love.
The result of truth and love is trust.

When these elements are missing, the essence of life is lost
When the essence of life is lost, society falls apart.

To restore life and society, we begin with truth.
We apply truth with love,
And trust is reestablished.

These things apply in the civic world and in the Church, but most of all in the family.
When image replaces truth, the purveyors of image begin to control.
That control slowly replaces truth as images take center stage.
Eventually the images can no longer be maintained
Because they are not truth.

When that happens (in family, church, school, business, government, or anywhere else) the basis of life is lost and society falls apart. Young people are particularly sensitive to lack of truth. If and when they realize that truth is lost they will leave the society and create an alternate society that they can understand.

Men who appear to be whole and righteous, but are living lives of private sin cannot lead. They are shells who maintain images with precision but cannot provide integrity for the benefit and development of the society.

The formula is simple but it must be followed. Life begins with truth. Society begins with, and is maintained by truth. Truth must be applied in a caring context of genuine love. The resultant trust provides a safe and secure society.

When an entire society perceives a lack of truth, the society will convulse and collapse. Is there hope today? There is hope today.

Men of integrity must band and bond together to bless and guide each other. We are all susceptible to departing from truth. Deception is everywhere. We need to hold each other accountable.

Jesus said, You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. He is our model. He is our guide. He has provided His Spirit to speak to our spirits to bind us together in one Spirit. His Spirit is the Spirit of truth who will guide us into all truth.

We beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth.
Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Pilate asked, What is truth?
Jesus said, God’s Word is Truth.

God is calling us to that Truth today. There is no other way to life. Commit yourself to the Word of God and the Spirit of God. His Spirit will dwell in you and eliminate sin from your life and replace it with truth and love.

Truth without love produces wooden compliance as long is it is enforced with harsh discipline.
Love without truth produces weakness because it is based on feelings without foundation.
Trust is established when truth is spoken and taught in love.

  • Truth with love produces:
The life of God as seen in His Word
