The Most Beautiful Creature
Women are beautiful. That is unquestioned. Women are the final creation of God. They are the crowning glory of their Creator. God made them beautiful.
BUT – in God’s eyes, the most beautiful of His creation is a broken man. God made man to be in charge of and responsible for His creation. Not just any man, but a broken man. A man after His own heart.
Just as an unbroken horse is dangerous. A broken and obedient horse is useful. An unbroken man is dangerous. A broken man is beautiful.
Real, Godly beauty is a man who is obedient to God – a man after God’s own heart. A man who hates what God hates and loves what God loves. Both testaments bear witness to this truth –
Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Psalm 45:7
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrews 1:9
Men, are you there? Is this true of you? Is your focus on God? Do you love what is right? Do you hate what is wrong? If that is true of you, you are a man after God’s heart. If this is not true of you, you are a tragic example of male humanity. You need to repent and be healed and live for your Creator.
Man, not regenerated, is a will-filled creature – determined to have his own way. That is destructive. A man’s strength is to be used to defend, not to destroy.
Grow up. Be willing to suffer for what is right. Be the beautiful creature God made you to be. Lose your will in God’s will. Accept God’s direction for your life. You must focus on His word and be sensitive and obedient to His Spirit.
The man Jesus was the most beautiful human creature who ever lived. His beauty was not outward physical attractiveness.
For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. Isaiah 53:2
There was no external beauty that would attract us to him. His beauty was in his character and his submission to his Father in Heaven. He loved truth and righteousness. He hated wrong and iniquity.
Are you a beautiful man? Are you beautiful to God? Is you life being used for what God made you to do? Is your life patterned after the Pattern God gave in His Son? If so, you are beautiful. The world may or may not be attracted to your physique or your intelligence or your wealth. But, they will be attracted to God because you, as one of His created sons, are beautiful like His only begotten son.
The world may not notice you but, if you are a man after God’s heart, God knows you. You are one of His beautiful creatures. Like Jesus, you will be a true child of God. In an atmosphere of distress and trouble – the world needs you and your beauty as a child of the living God.
