My Beloved Son
My Beloved Son and/or Daughter
“This is My beloved son
In whom I am well pleased”
These are words that Jesus heard from his Father.
These are words that every child needs to hear from his/her father.
MY son/daughter – It is my delight that God gave you to me
Beloved – I love you more than I could ever say
I am well pleased – you are the joy of my heart
Jesus heard these words on two occasions.
Children need to hear these words on many occasions.
These are sustaining words
These are healing words
These are powerful words
These words give courage
These words give purpose
These words give approval
These words give worth
Children need to see delight in their father’s eyes
Children need to hear acceptance in their father’s voice
Children need to feel love in their father’s touch
Children need to feel valuable
Children need to feel needed
Children need to feel appreciated
Children need to feel honored
This love will not protect the children from all of life’s pain but it will prepare them to be strong against the wiles of the world. There are times when father will not be there to protect, but his love will still be there to guard and guide the heart of his child.
Jesus heard these words two times. Actually Jesus may have heard these words of approval many times. Two occasions are recorded. This is how the Heavenly Father communicates His love and blessing to His Son. This is how earthly fathers communicate and transmit love and approval and value to their children.
As fathers we need to model our lives after the Lord our God who rejoices over His children. We need to rejoice over our children so they can rest in our love. Our love and care will show them the love of their Heavenly Father.
Delight in your children today
Speak words of blessing to your children today
Tell your children that you are well pleased with them today
Your children are hungry for those words
Tell them today
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty
He will save
He will rejoice over thee with joy
He will rest in his love
He will joy over thee with singing
