Consumed by Zeal for God

Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business.

He had made a whip of cords,
He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and
He poured out the changers’ money and
He overturned the tables. And
He said to those who sold doves,
“Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”

Then His disciples remembered that it was written,
“Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”
John 2:13-17

‘Zeal’ – to be on fire with passion for the Church of God.

‘Has eaten me up’ – to be consumed by and for the holiness of God
Martin Luther translates this – “…Hat mich gefressen!”

What consumes your energies?
What is the object of your zeal?
Would you be like Jesus?

Today is the day to apply, in a Spiritual way, the passionate zeal of Jesus Christ for the Church. His Church.

Are you doing that?
How are you doing that?
That zeal has never been more needed than it is today.
Now is the time.
