The Peace of God and Spiritual Warfare

The Peace of God and Spiritual Warfare

The peace of God will be at war with the wickedness of the world. War is the absence of peace between opposing factions. God will not have peace with sin and wrong. When we sense the absence of peace, we know that a battle is imminent. The forces of right and truth will refute and confound the forces of wrong and falsehood. There will be Spiritual warfare.

The Spiritual warfare can be in your heart, your marriage, your family, your church, and/or your nation. It requires Spiritual sensitivity to know and identify the lack of peace. God will not make peace with sin and wrong. Peace with sin is false peace.

Jesus told His followers when He sent them out: And coming to the house salute it, and if indeed the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; and if it be not worthy, let your peace turn back to you. And whoever may not receive you nor hear your words, coming forth from that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Matthew 10:12-14
Strong words. Needed words. Important words. Words from the Master. As we enter any situation, we need to determine if the peace of God is there. If it is, we are safe. If it is not, there will be war – Spiritual warfare. But, be of good cheer, we have a strong tower- a safe place – it is the peace of God that will protect our hearts and minds.

In the midst of a world where Spiritual battle will be the believer’s daily experience, we will be kept safe from harm by the peace of God. This peace is beyond all understanding and explanation. It is not understandable. It is just there because God is there.

We come to God with prayer and thanksgiving and make our requests to Him through Christ Jesus. This will quiet our hearts from the anxiety of this world. We then receive the peace of God that passes all understanding – our strong, safe place. We meditate on the things that are: true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and good report. As we do this, the God of peace is with us.

That is the promise of the Word of God. Peace of God and peace with God will not remove us from the Spiritual battle but, God will provide a safe, strong place during the battle.

You can have personal peace of heart while we are engaged in Spiritual warfare.

Whatever your lot today, whatever battles you are fighting, you can have peace. May the good Lord grant you the peace that comes only from God and His Holy Spirit and His Sacred Word.

And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7
